Kidcarescout helps you connect to your child care program. It is a community of parents with preschool or elementary school children and a variety of child care programs.

Child care connection

Every parent needs to know "what are the daycares near me?" What are you looking for - a Montessori preschool, Head Start program, after school care, or home daycare provider? We have many ways you can find child care resources available for you. You can search by zip code, city name, school name or go to our interactive map and select a program near you. Each child care provider is different, and many have provided detailed information about their program. The range of information varies from child care application fees to how many hours of child care training each teacher has received. Many teachers post their teaching strategies and classroom management information to describe their teaching style. We invite you to take a virtual tour of the classrooms in our photo gallery. We make it easy for you to decide which program is right for your child.

Name your price

Do you struggle to find a child care program to meet your needs? You are not alone. Many parents find it difficult to find a program that works for them. It may be because of the school hours or holiday closures. Sometimes parents find the cost of care is prohibitive. Child care is a business and needs to support its operation; however, every child care director knows that they lose money when they have vacancies. Therefore, to fill these openings child care directors are often willing to negotiate with parents. We make finding such openings easy. All you need to do id go to My Account and click on Create New Album. Leave information about yourself, your child and the care you need. Indicate the price you are ready to pay for child care and share the album with the child care programs you like. Once directors review your child's album they can contact you back if your offer will meet their needs.

Parent connect

If you want an honest opinion about a child care program, ask another parent whose child attends the school. Once registered, go to the school's profile and clicking on the Ask A Parent button. We value our families' privacy and do not show names - only their registration ID number and their child's gender and age. We do not make conversations public; they are only between two parents. When you get your answer you can always delete the conversation. Providers are invited to participate too; however, to maintain integrity they are not able to see your conversations.  It is very easy to become an advocate for a child care program. All you need is to register, fill out your child's album and share it with the school your child attends. Thank you for being a responsible parent and helping others find a safe child care program.

Educational games

Your child care provider will probably have the second biggest impact on your child after you. Your teacher is a valuable educator with a wealth of knowledge in child development.  Who else would be better to ask what works in your child's education? We created a resource where teachers can recommend educational games suited for your child. The recommendations are based on what teachers use in the classroom and what will benefit your child's age group. Our games and materials can be used at home as well as in the classroom to support the skills learned at school. To find your teacher's recommendations please visit your program's page on our website and click on KidCareShop. Select the items you want for your child, and once the campaign is over your order will be delivered directly to your school.

Live web camera feeds from your child's classroom

It is hard enough to leave your baby with somebody else. Not being able to see your child whenever you want can be very tough. Luckily, with new technology you can see your child at school on any device which can stream a video.  It is very affordable and easy to use. All you need is to find if your school offers these services. If not, we will be glad to contact your program and find if they want to join. Go to your program's profile, select KidCareCam, and a referral button will appear. All you need now is to let us and the school know who you are by sharing your child's album with the school where your child is enrolled.  We have an "open house" policy for our web camera views. Only the images which would be normally available for parents touring the program are presented on the cameras. The images do not include diaper changing areas or bathroom areas. Access to camera feeds is granted to verified parents of enrolled students only after authorization by school administration and only provide access to feeds from their child's classroom and common areas.
